Physics is the branch of science that deals with the structure of matter and how the fundamental constituents of the universe interact. It studies objects ranging from the very small using quantum mechanics to the entire universe using general relativity.Our daily lives depend heavily on physics. It explains the forces, motion, and energy of daily life. Physics is at work when you do things like driving a car, kicking a football, or even using a phone. It does involve gravitational law, the laws of inertia and friction, as well as kinetic and potential energy.

The Department of Physics was established in the academic year 1975.

The following are the intermediate courses with Physics as one of the main subject:-

The department has highly qualified and well experienced teachers since its inception.

Sri V.S.N, Sri K.S.R., Sri P.B.M., Dr.M.S.R, Sri D.S.worked in this department. Sri S.N.V.D.R.SAI is the First Member of the Department since 2022. Kum K.Likitha and Sri K.Pullaiah are other members of this department. Kum K.Likitha received the award ‘Dedicated Staff” for not availing any kind of leave during the calendar year 2022-2023 from Secretary, SAGATE, Sri P.Lakshmana Rao garu on the occasion of 47th College day Celebrations on 09-03-2023.
